Product Overview & Area of Application
The Defro DBO 300 is a standing, thermally insulated heat storage tank with a nominal volume of 300 liters and an integrated heat exchanger. It absorbs thermal energy, stores it, and releases it according to the demand of the connected heating system.
The combination of 300 liters of storage volume and a heat exchanger surface area of 3.2 m² supports the integration of various heat generators. The tank volume is intended for heating water or a suitable neutral heat transfer medium and is not approved for the direct storage of drinking water.
Technology & Equipment
The integrated heat exchanger has a surface area of 3.2 m² and a capacity of 15.8 liters. A heat exchanger output of 69.0 kW and a flow rate of 1,720 liters per hour are specified. The actual transferable output depends on the system temperatures, the flow rate, and the hydraulic integration.
Multiple side connection positions allow flexible integration into different system concepts. Sensor connections at various tank heights support temperature detection. A separate sleeve can be used for an optional electric heating element if suitably designed.
Everyday Benefits
Despite the 300-liter storage volume, the standing cylindrical design requires only a comparatively small footprint. The removable thermal insulation facilitates installation and reduces heat losses during operation.
Different connection and sensor positions make it easier to adapt to the respective heating system. Energy efficiency class C and a standby heat loss of 97.2 watts characterize the energy properties of the 300-liter version.
System Integration & Compatibility
The Defro DBO 300 can be used in closed heating systems with suitable boilers, heat pumps, and other heat generators. Integration into appropriately planned solar thermal systems is also generally possible.
Storage volume, heat exchanger, flow rate, pressure conditions, and system temperatures must match the respective system concept. The assignment of connections and media circuits must be checked before installation based on the actually delivered version.

Installation
Transport, setup, hydraulic connection, and initial commissioning must be carried out by qualified specialist personnel. The storage tank must be installed vertically on a level, dry, frost-free, and permanently load-bearing surface.
When the storage tank is completely filled, a minimum load of approximately 380 kg must be expected without additional attachments. The safety valve, expansion vessel, venting, drainage, and pipe sizing must be designed to match the entire system.
Notes
The maximum operating pressure of 3 bar and the maximum medium temperature of 90 °C must not be exceeded. No shut-off device or cross-section reduction may be installed between the storage tank and the safety valve.
The specified heat exchanger output does not replace hydraulic or thermal design. Before installation and commissioning, the model, connection type, media routing, and operating limits must be checked on the nameplate.
