The Schönberg Heiztechnik SPS 800 is a stratified buffer tank for closed heating systems. It stores heating water, supports hydraulic decoupling between the heat generator and heating circuits, and enables time-delayed use of thermal energy.
With a net capacity of 714 liters, the SPS 800 is suitable for heating systems where a larger stratified tank is to be used for system stabilization, buffer storage, and demand-based heat supply.
Technology & Equipment
The storage tank is made of quality steel S235JRG2 and is designed for use as a heating water storage tank in closed systems. The SPS series operates with multiple connection zones, thus supporting temperature-controlled hydraulic integration in the heating system.
The SPS 800 features 8 charging and discharging connections with 1 1/2" female thread, 4 sensor and controller connections with 1/2" female thread, and a vent with 1 1/4" female thread. Two connections with 1 1/2" female thread are provided for suitable electric heating cartridges.
Everyday Benefits
The stratified buffer tank absorbs thermal energy and releases it to the heating system with a time delay. This allows the system to operate more smoothly, make better use of temperature differences, and provide heat more efficiently according to demand.
The different insulation variants allow adaptation to the installation situation, efficiency requirements, and available floor space. For the SPS 800, insulation variants with energy efficiency class A, B, or C are available.
System Integration & Compatibility
The SPS 800 is intended for closed heating water circuits and can be integrated into systems with heat generators, heating circuits, control technology, and suitable safety devices. The specific connection assignment depends on the system planning, temperature zones, and hydraulic concept.
Optional reheating via suitable electric heating cartridges is possible at the designated connections. The storage tank is not intended as a domestic hot water tank and is not used for direct domestic hot water preparation.

Installation
Installation, hydraulic connection, electrical connection work, and safety inspection are carried out by qualified specialist personnel. The tank is installed standing on a load-bearing, level, and frost-free surface. Connections, ventilation, sensor pockets, and maintenance areas must remain accessible.
Notes
The SPS 800 is intended exclusively for closed heating water circuits. Use as a domestic hot water tank is not intended. Safety valve, expansion vessel, and other safety devices must be designed in accordance with the system planning.
Electric heating cartridges may only be installed when de-energized and must be connected exclusively by qualified electricians. The heating cartridges may only be used at the connections marked for this purpose.
